I don’t have a whole lot of information about this place only that it was built as a hotel in 1881 and primarily would have been used by workers at the shipyards etc that surrounded this part of West Holborn, in South Tyneside. Part of the site was demolished leaving pretty much just a pub and a flat above it, most of the bedrooms being removed with the demolition. I recently came into possession of a set of keys for this place, so thought it would be rude not to do a wee report on it.
