I know these have been done to death, but there we go....

GAMBINO and MYSELF hadn't even planned on visiting MIDLAND MILLS, we just happened to be local (avec camera gubbins), and thought sod it, lets have a mooch!

Midland Mills has been on my doorstep forever, and I've never bothered to check it out, thinking that it would just be trashed inside. It was fairly trashed, but both myself and Gambino really enjoyed it. There's some nice features still remaining, and some really nice graffiti. Unfortunately, there was a bit of human poo scattered around the place, courtesy of Bradford Bag'eds Society!

Midland Mills is a two-acre site with three Grade II listed buildings which date back to the 1800s. It was home to the British Mohair Holdings and previously to hand-knitting wool manufacturer Jarol, but has been vacant since 2001. There are plans for a £35 million redevelopment of the mill, to turn it into 'luxurious' or 'prestigious' (or whatever word they'll choose) apartments.

Hopefully they won't be the generic 'contemporary' apartments that a lot of these renovations end up like, and will hopefully have a lot more character to them!

THE CONDITIONING HOUSE

A few pics by MYSELF and GAMBINO taken a while back. I thought it would be rude not to include them in the report (with the two buildings being so close).

Built in 1902 as a result of a special act of parliment as a scientific testing facility for the woollen industry. Wool and textiles would have been brought here and tested under different enviromental conditions to determine their strength and durability. The textile industry fell into decline, and in the 1980's Bradford council closed The Conditioning House.

Nice one fellas. I saw the biggest manpoo that I had ever seen in Midland Mills. Incredibly, in the absence of toilet paper, someone had used a 1 pint plastic milk carton (full fat) for "cleaning up duties"
