East-Demi Bastion was built in the 18th century to give the Eastern flank of Dover Castle more protection. It's connected to the castle by a passage that leads under the east ditch. It is closed to the public.

5. The other end, inside the castle grounds. the groove in the floor was cut to carry cables during WW2.
6. Half-way along this passage, another tunnel leads of at 90 degrees.
7. And leads to a guard room with a lookout through the cliff face.
