    Arrow Gotts Park Air Raid Shelter, Leeds - March 2010

    Visited here with a mate, and was actually suprised that we found it and the size of it. What we didn't realise is that we could actually get over some of the rubble in there to view the rest of the shelter, so I feel another visit coming sometime soon

    Don't really know anything about the history of it, but here are the pics.

    In terms of history - it was likely to have been built in 1938/39 as a communal shelter for World War II. There are lots of them around in the parks in Leeds. SOme cracking shots there too - and a nice report

    Nice pics mate if any one goes back in mite be an idea to open the latch for the escape hatch as i,m sure the entrance is going to be propelly burried ??

    shame its been quite so buried but mex has a very good point, was a little disapointed to have missed out while up in leeds last weekend but them's the breaks.
