Arrow The lost footpath at Barehead Quarry, Northowram, Halifax, 03/10

I am a jumbo fan of things that are different. I'd seen a picture of this place ages ago, and whilst going somewhere else on the weekend, thought it would be rude not to have a look while I was in the area. I wouldn't get your hopes up. There is no bunker here, or forgotten helicopters or anything good. In fact, we could probably up there with some of the more appalling places ever seen. In fact, we could all probably do without seeing this, as it is a waste of your time.
Many visitors and residents of this part of West Yorkshire will have marveled at the lovely warm stone that was used for building. A lot came from here. However the quarries are long gone, and filled in to become fields.
A bit like this one. But wait? What is that in the corner?

Running underneath the corner of this field, in the middle of nowhere is a footpath.

This must be the only dry stone tunnel through a spoil heap in the world.

I love the fact that this old pathway has been preserved underneath the quarry waste. That is because i am a bit simple.
