Was asked not to post this publicly, but seeing as it seems to be getting posted elsewhere it seems rude not to post it here either.
From what I gather, mining at Holme Bank dates to the early 19th century, however grew substantially towards the end of the century. Mining ceased in the early 1960s. Today its a popular location for divers due to its submerged areas. It's a cracking place, with plenty of mining bits and bobs lurking around.
