Howdy all, I visited Spaunton Quarry this morning, owned by Cemex. It’s quite a big quarry, and I understand that due to expansion plans being turned down (as it would eat into the North Yorks national park, despite the particular area not being especially beautiful) it is in the stages of long term decommissioning. So having not done a live large quarry before I set about the task of capturing the plant and structures.

What was interesting was that there were signs everywhere, it was very health and safety orientated, at one point I was convinced I would find a sing saying: “For a healthy life style, remember to breathe in and out at regular intervals”!!

Signage:

Hmm, heavy plant, nice!

Ah, what’s up there then?
