The Great Llanberis Explore - Jan 09 -

what started out as a simple camping trip to snowdon turned into a 2 day explore....

to kick things off stopped for a pee break....sorry i know..turning into this little village just before the road leading up to dinorwig...id jumped a little wall to get out of sight and noticed i was on another road with a very sharp bend ....anyway had pee and went back to get my m8 and we went for a wander along this section of road....what we found was loads of memorials with peoples names on and the road was bricked up at either end leading onto the new section which we was driving down originally...anyway to cut it short it turns out it was closed many yrs ago (i think somewhere it said the 70,s) because it was an accident black spot and now forms part of the llanberis walk

to cut a long story short and stop babbling on we had a day of exploring...this was well before i discovered the bomb stores which involved vivian quarry,dolbadarn castle quarry visitor centre (old quarry workshops) across to dinorwig quarry then onto snowdon (where we found what seems to be a derelict chapel at the base....could be wrong)

the closed section of road was to be our bed for the night under some trees right by the river it was a strange sleep i tell ye...lots of strange noises
to awake the next morning and stop off at conway falls and llangollen aquaduct on the way home.....
