The Institute Nightclub in the centre of Paisley was once a busy club full of revellers ( and chavs ) - it was called Make for the Border previously. The Institute was housed in another building in Paisley - a very nice old listed building until 1998 when a fire gutted it, mysteriosly their new premises also had a fire about 4 years ago.
Very trashed, chavved - but some gems do remain ;
the uninspiring exterior - more like a warehouse than anything else - there were two bars - one housed in the taller structure to the right and the other to the left
the bar to the right
funky wall design - they were full of tea candles!!
vodka?
above this bars false ceiling there were remnants of an older funky scheme
the second bar housed the main dance floor - this is the route down to the floor
the dance floor at the top of these steps and the DJ box in the centre - I can just imagine the row of folk along the banister to the upper left standing watching the dancers
Anyone want a free ticket?
This was hidden behind a false wall - a guinness advert
and this was hidden also - my favourite
time to get your coat from the cloakroom
and leave past the ticket office
security tapes
thanks for looking
