Talgarth Asylum - 02 May 2009 - Report

I am new to the world of Urban Exploration and for my first trip I deicded to visit Talgarth Asylum.

The Talgarth Asylum closed in 1999 approx after being open sine approx 1903. To begin with the Asylum was only open to the villagers of Talgarth and the local surronding arreas such as Brecon.

The Asylum is situated just north of Crickhowell, in a run down village. Since the closure of the Asylum the village has taken a turn for the worst. The Asylum was the main employer within Talgarth. Since this most of the local shops have now ceased trading and the village is becoming run down.

When I arrived at the Asylum I noticed that the planned redevelopment work had already begun. The main building is currently still in tact as well as the Dormitory ward.

I ventured into the Dormitory ward, and found an world unknown to myself.
