Middleton Leisure Centre - March 09

Well, I finally managed to get in for a proper look around.

This is a three building site
1) Swimming pool building
2) Sports Centre
3) Civic Hall

Demolition is clearly underway on the site which closed a few months ago.

I make no excuses for my photography skills, I am rubbish

Swimming Pool Building

5. All these papers were once so important thay had to be stored. Now they're waiting for the skip.....

Don't know what it is about derelict pools. I find them quite eerie. Got the shivers walking up to this one for the first time

The sports centre is a short dash away along the enclosed footbridge.
So here goes

1. Good, old fashioned healthy drinks. None of this protein shake crap here !

The Civic Hall.

Unfortunately the third building has been pretty much gutted by workmen ripping out the asbestos tiles. There's virtually nothing left of the innerds of this building. What is left wasn't enough to tempt me further into the shimmering asbestos dust clouds so I beat a hasty, and photoless retreat.
