Finally got here

It's been on my list for years, but somehow I've never got here until now.
Nearly got collared by Security a couple of times and took me an age to find the bloody tower access LOL.

I'm not going to go into the history of the place as it's been done so many times before....

I'm gutted that this place is so wrecked and stripped, really should have gone here years ago when I first spotted it.
Got talking to a couple of plod on the way out and found out some interesting info...Apparently the site was resold in 2006 to an Arabian guy, who is also planning on turning it into apartments, as was the previous owners, reality estates, but it never happened.
While we were walking round we noticed that some of the rooms had been marked out into apartments but I don't know if this was before or after the new owner purchased it.
Also found out that the police used to use the building for firearms and dog-training exercises. The copper I spoke to, used to patrol the site and has been in the morgue. He said when it closed there was no security on site and everything was pretty much as it was left.... gutted I didn't get to see it like that

Wildlife has taken the opportunity to use this safe haven amidst the hustle of the inner city, Rabbits and hares roam the grounds and birds sing contentedly in the trees. It is hard to believe you are trapped on all sides by motorways and major roads, in very close proximity.

I tried to recreate Chewy's awesome photo in the clock tower.... and failed miserably LOL

We did get a lovely sunset as we were leaving.

I'm STILL trying to figure out how they did the graf piece on the back wall of the lift shaft....
