Been very busy lately so apologies for lack of reports. Wanted to see inside here for a long time, promises so much from the outside, but very dissapointed with what was left. Looks like the locals have been in heavy, lots of theft and damage, surprising as it's been locked down tight for a long time.
Known locally as the Clap Clinic ( they specialised in dodgy STD'S here), the oldest part of the present building was opened on 30th July 1879, profiting from various benefactors including the eponymous Thomas Clayton who left a will providing money for an earlier dispensary which had latterly been off Northgate. Two further wings were added in 1900 and 1932.
