Nara Dreamland Abandoned Amusement Park Japan

Nara Dreamland 1961-2006 (RIP). This is probably the largest abandoned theme park in Japan, that hasn't been razed to the ground. A victim of the Japanese economic bubble and the construction of Universal Studios in nearby Osaka.

Apparently there's a full-time guard in there that likes to fine people 700£. Luckily I didn't meet him.

I like how untouched this place is to say that it has been shut 7 years. Pic no.2 reminds me of the American Adventure Theme Park. It is a good job you didn't bump into that guard! I'm not sure if that can be legal enforced in Japan?

Thanks, I actually only read about the guard after I'd been, probably wouldn't have gone if I had been aware of it. But then the place is so big.

Thanks for all the positive comments, I was very lucky with the weather, dark skies are always best.

There are some interesting abandoned places in Japan, if you search for haikyo (that's Urbex in Japanese) you'll find quite a few English blogs, the Snake Specimen Laboratory is really cool.
