Arrow Great Ayton ROC Post - (Yorkshire Group) - December 2011

    1991 Closure. Visited with TripleSix.
    Status: Open.

I pass this on the way to our post every time and for two years havent stopped and looked! So we thought we'd check it out.
It isnt so much chavved - just very very very damp. I had spoken to the ex C/Obs who said it was always damp and prone to flooding.

Well, it seems an attempt had been made to cut back the undergrowth - resulting in the vent shaft being partially demolished.
Inside is just a total mess. Your feet squelch as you step, dirty smelly water oozing up. The place absolutly stunk. Everything is ruined. There was a small hand made sign bearing the post name, group and number etc which i wanted to take for Chop Gate, but it appears it may have fell into the dirty water and there was no way on gods earth i was putting my hand in it.
Overall, disgusting. Shame, as there would have been lots to see.

Vent Shaft (Sorry its blurry but you can see the damage)
