Arrow Northallerton ROC Post - (Yorkshire Group) - December 2011

    1991 Closure. Visited with TripleSix.

Status: Now Open. Surrounded by beehives, this psot has always been well disguised and has always been locked. At some point, a member from another forum removed the locks and installed new ones - handing the keys to the owner. The one photo i had seen from then (which must be a couple of year ago) looked really good. Maps, paperwork, all intact - sealed since 1991. However that is now not the case. The post is pretty stripped and any paperwork that remains has been shredded by what seems to be mice. Perhaps the owner has taken stuff for safe keeping - who knows. I would say that this has happened within the last six months. What is unusual for a 1991 closure is that the bunk beds remain in the post. The Tbar has been smashed off so we had to leave it open. It doesnt look as if the beehives are used anymore - many are smashed up or tipped over.

    Entrance Hatch

    Monitoring Room

The Copper Earthing seems to have been ripped form the wall, but still remains. It is in excellent condition and hasnt oxidies - usually it has turned green by now.

    Bunk Beds. Standard ROC Pillow?

    Toilet/Store

    Hatch

It doesnt look too bad on the photos but when you see the photo from Turkey's report you will see such a difference. I can't find it otherwise i would link it in to here.

One thing that isnt in the picture is that it has these really cool looking 1980's looking swivel chairs!
