    Arrow 5 miles from home...

Okay, here goes my first posting with pictures... fingers crossed.

It was a lovely Fife day - the rain was coming down in an off and on fashion, just giving you enough time to dry out before soaking you again and there was a hurrican blowing in, all in all a perfect day to get out of the house. Being the great adventurer that I am I decided to start my first 'official' exploration close to home - the next village, to be precise, only a mile or so away. But the next village just happens to have a ship dismantlers, as mentioned by SaltGeorge, and a dissused quary. I guessed there'd be a few things to stick my curiosity into there. Next on the road trip was a visit to a couple of WW2 coastal batteries. The first of which I was prevent from reaching by a Private Road (fear not I think I've found a way round for the next time). The second was a bit easier to get to, just had to dodge the strange looks from the golfers as I walked over their golfing pitch or whatever (I'm not a golfer lol). I was worth the walk - some nice concrete to look at. The fact that I was the only person to be seen and the gorse and brambles were trying their best to reclaim everything, along with the rain and gale force winds, it gave you an uncanny sense of what it must have been like 70 years ago watching for the subs trying to sneak up the Forth.

    Photos to follow...

    Hmmm okay...

I did knock but there didn't seem to be anyone in

A walk through of the day...

    Site offices?

the next two show why a quarry really isn't a playground... unless you're a duck

okay back to the dry bits...

what's the betting the copper from these beasts ended up in the scrap yard over the road?

not much to look at on the outside...

    but inside...

A taste of things to come...

I hope this lots gets me full entry into the forum so I can put the pics where they belong.
