Gartloch was built in 1889 and received it's first patients in 1896.

It was turned into a tuberculosis sanatorium in 1902 and it closed after World War II. During the War, Gartloch was transformed into an Emergency Medical Services hospital. Psychiatric patients were transferred to other hospitals and a number of “temporary” hutted wards built.

It closed it's doors for the final time in 1996 and is currently being turned into private luxury flats.

A few from me....

I loved the external of the admin block but was disappointed by how stripped and trashed it was, however this was just around the corner - cue colour!
