    Arrow Carlsberg-Tetley Brewery, Leeds, 06/11

    VISITED WITH GeoVDUB AND FOWLEANDCLOUGH

    TETLEY BREWERY LEEDS

"Remember what Jimmy used to say?.. If You wanna be makin' moves on the street, have no attachments, allow nothing to be in your life that you cannot walk out on in thirty seconds flat if you spot the heat around the corner"

Althou the above quote has no relevance to this report, I thought Id bang it in here cos Ive always wanted to have some cool shit written at the beginning of one of my reports so Ive put it there.... Moving on....

I can honestly say this is probs one of my top 5 explores ever! The lights still on, coffee machines working, computers still running, pretty much everything still there and more hats laying abot you can shake a stick it. Only downside is the smell!

    BIT O-HOSTORY

"Tetley’s has a history that is inextricably linked to Leeds and spans over 175 years. In 1822, Joshua Tetley set up his brewing business just yards away from where Tetley’s Brewery Wharf is today. Following an amalgamation with Carlsberg, Tetley’s is now the 6th biggest brewer in the world. This factory is immense, and there is a constant waft of beer as you walk around the site! For visitors there is an interactive museum which reveals the history of brewing alcohol."

Tetleys brewery opened in 1822 and expanded through out its life with the last extension being built in 2006. In 1994 the muesum opened and proved extremely successful but closed in 2000 to make way for the brewery Wharf development of flats. Tetley-Carlsberg annouced the closure in November 2008 and the site has being slowly closing down ever since

On with the pictures! Ill probs be wrong in all the naming of the bits but nevermind...

    The Hopper Tanks (I think)

This bit was also used for when visitors had a walk round the brewery and has controll room in the centre to regulate the tanks

    BEHIND THE SCENES

To make 180million plus pints a time takes a lot of pipes and holding tanks, room after room full of pipey shiney goodness. To think, all this and I still prefer Guinness...

These interesting rooms go on and on! Tons of them! But onwards upstairs...

    THE RESEARCH LABS

There was lots to see in here but we were too busy using there canteen to photo it all

    MAIN CONTROL ROOM

This seems to be the main computer room that we could find and looked like it focused on fire prevention, monitoring all the temps of the tanks and powders that were around. Sadly there was no porn on them.

    THE BASEMENT

This is somewhere that I am thinking needs a revisited for, service tunnels that will probably lead to all the other buildings and will for sure have some air raid shelters throwed in. This is the last place we visited before deciding to head of, but hopefully we will be returning...

Thats it! Last shot off the roof over Leeds....

    And done!

    Cheers!

Ace man... Shame you can't photograph the smell, that'd give people the real experience...

Or maybe tell them to spill some lucozade on a piece of lino, leave it 3 hours and walk around on it... that'll be like they were really there!

I need to get my arse in gear and overcome my fear of "doing an Ojay" on the fence... These are the fabbest pics from this place I've seen, love the moody darkness, you boys are lucky chaps.
