Started off as more of a Recce, however after checking access me and Mr Ex decided it was worth a crack at!
So we went and parked the car up and 10-15 mins later we were in!
Very brief history of the place:
Opened in 1929 as the Palladium Theater and was eventually turned into a cinema which lasted until 1976.
As with most theater buildings the inevitable happened and it was turned into a Bingo Hall.
Wetherspoons did put an offer in for the building but seemingly the Council would rather try and re open
it as a theater.... however it doesn't look like anything is going to happen any time soon as the place has
already stood derelict for around 3 decades!
Inside the place is trashed and stacked high with junk (mostly mattresses from what i could see) from various
retail units. We managed to find a few lights which only gave us a tiny bit of light in the stairwell downstairs.
The entire lower stairwell going up to the bar area did not look of feel structurally sound at all :-/.
A lot of light painting and off camera flash was needed in order to get photos, specially in the upper seating, was a nice explore despite it being
so trashed though.
Still managed to do an uuber pic heavy report though :-|
