Brewery isn't actually in Saltaire, it's in Dockfield. They just chose the name 'Saltaire' to help with marketing me thinks.

Theres loads to see around there . I'll be back.... When i can drive, which should be around christmas time providing i have my insurance sorted by then. If i got the train its three hours, three changes and a lot of money so its not really worth it.

Myself and joybee were in Saltaire Saturday just gone We went with the intention of shooting the Mill from the River Aire side, and It didn't disappoint

Saltair is a Victorian model village, and was founded by Sir Titus Salt in 1853. The Mill stands between the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the River Aire.

    Full history etc here.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saltaire

I really enjoyed my time here. It certainly is a unique place to visit, and deffo on the cards to do so again

Here's a few shots from the day. Hope you enjoy.

Starting with a stroll on the Canal, and the chav section.

The contrast between degeneration and regeneration.

    Beautifully restored canal side living.

    Approaching the massive Salts Mill.

And the point of the whole stroll. The view from the river Aire. Beautiful surroundings.

The United Reformed Church., where Titus Salt is interred.

And just to go off tangent....... This is what greeted me whilst answering the call of nature at the nearby Salts Sports Club

Original Duckett Urinals from the 1930's............ Who would have thought it.

    Was a good day

PS: Sorry for hijacking your post Krypton
