Arrow Trip to Alum Pot via Upper Long Churn - May 2011.

Trip to Alum Pot via Upper Long Churn

Another caving trip, this time we headed over to Ingleborough in search of Long Churn

After kitting up we headed on over to the entrance at Upper Long Churn, stopping by Alum Pot for a look in your holeZ

Once we reached Upper Long Churn we rigged a handline down the chute and descended one by one into the large plungepool known as Dr Bannisters

Someone got a soaking... LOL wasn't me

A fair bit of crawling about and negotiating large boulders and free climbing all manner of stuff we headed to Lower Long Churn

Next challenge - 'The Cheese Press'

Absolute no way I was getting through here, infact only the slim one passed through

Next up we rigged up for our descent down the 'Dolly Tubs' pitch a 20M abb and we were all soon down, sadly no pictures of this bit as it was far too wet!

We made our way to the viewing platform of Alum Pot - A stunning view

We will return at some point with moar rope so we can make it to the bottom of Alum Pot, thanks for looking

nise play about in't alum there, did you manage to look down Diccan as well ? (following water to your left on the way to the dolly tubs pitch instead of following the oxbow), the cheese press brings back painful memories as i'm 16.5 st and have been stuck in there just where that nobble is on't floor right side !, solid against roof n't floor.......not funny.....naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa it was after .......haha...give us a shout if you go in't dales again....ill bring some gear to play on.....nice pic's oh who got wet ?, love free climbing there with more water coming down the shoot.....free shower lol
