Default Armagh ROC Post (County Armagh) 2009

Armagh Post was opened in 1959 and closed in 1991. It was the closest post to Portadown (The post I have restored) and was in the same cluster.

The Post was locked when SubBrit visited back in 2001, when I visited in 2009 the post had its padlocks removed but it was still locked on the T-Bar.

The owner was a great bloke and I left him a copy of the UKWMO booklet as he allowed me to take the bunk-beds for Portadown.

The compound is very wet but sits on high ground so no chance of flooding.

Great post with lots left inside, on farming land in full view of owners house so little chance of it being vandalised.

With a little tidy up I think it would look great. Yeah its rare to see a genuine battery.

As they always say, 'location, location, location'. The post is too far from the road and the farmer who owns it keeps cows so it would be impossible to restore the post and show people around, sadly its just not worth it, although it was on the list before I restored Portadown.

The bottom of the batteries has rusted through with corrosion so it would be impossible to get them to take a charge again sadly, I was going to put them in Portadown but they where just too far gone.
