Arrow The lost windmills of Britain

Maybe not in the same league as ROC posts (no weapons or link with bombs), but these derelict towermills are a legacy to a simpler age. Many of them are converted to houses, but are still quite cool.

    Appleton Roebuck windmill, near Tadcaster

    Remains of the internal timbers

Strutton Windmill (above the A64 by Tadcaster) currently covered in scaffolding, probable conversion. (unconfirmed)

    Inside Strutton Windmill

Seacroft Windmill, now part of the Ramada Jarvis hotel. One of the three remaining windmills in Leeds

Appleton Windmill (nr Billbrough Top services, A64) Converted to a watertower.

Colton Windmill, Leeds. Recently converted to a house.

Want to find windmills to add to this thread? Probably not. But if you suddenly have some sort of mental breakdown and feel a strange urge, check out this suoer geektastic site, http://www.windmillworld.com/uk/counties.htm You know it makes no sense...
