With the yoghurt place boxed off TCCI hailed a taxi (woke georgie up) and we headed up the road to the County Constabulary.
Access was comedy. Well comedy for the cat and georgie, less so for me and Zero Big thanks to both of them because without their assistance I wouldn't have got in here
History nicked from georgie:
'Built in 1892 (prior to this time magistrates sat in a room at the nearby Abbey Arms Hotel), originally comprising a courthouse, police station and cells. Disused since 1987, currently boarded up and derelict.
The site was the headquarters for the Eddisbury division which was absorbed into runcorn in 1939.'
On the way out I was collared by a chap who lived in the house at the back. He told us that the place is owned by a Chinese group based in Manchester who had planned to open a Chinese restaurant there but because the building is so close to the main road and the access (if only he knew) was so poor they can't do owt with it.
He also said 'smoke a bit of weed, as you do'. Repeatedly.
