Random Ramblings...

Firstly, thanks for the invite chaps. Secondly, eeeh by gum. What a gem, running on from jellyfish's recent report (Boy you had balls going in there alone) it became apparent that there was another hospital in the vicinity of Denbigh, Yes, who'd beleive it?

It is alleged that this was something of an 'overspill' from Denbigh Asylum, being only a few miles away, why shouldn't it be. This place is pretty much untouched asides from the work that has been done to remove anything of value by the owner. Other than that my friends, we're talking 99% natural decay. Underfloors have collapsed in parts, plaster lays sprawled in hallways and wallpaper drapes unforgivably but what a great place. Halls lined with panelled wood, cells / bedrooms on every floor.

History

The Baggot family built the present mansion and were followed there by the Tate's of Tate and Lyle.

In 1930 all the farms etc on the estate were sold off and the mansion was eventually bought by Denbighshire Health Authority and was a Phyciatric hospital (a branch of The North Wales Hospital) until 1988 when it was sold to a builder.
