So me and clough have been quiet on the reports for a while, mainly because its either too icy or just too cold and also because we seem to have ran out of local sites....
well after looking through the archives we found this place ( originally done by king elvis i believe ? ) not a great much to see here but well worth a wander in your in the area, the site is huge and can keep you occupied for maybe an hour or so ( like i said not a great much to see) we did this on two visits first time we went it was dark and VERY creepy, second time was on a fresh saturday morning so we got to see this place in a different light.
Heres some stuff on it : The site closed August 2006, although this might have been a partial closedown as a conflicting report suggests the site closed down in as recently as August 2009.

In 1992, the site owners sacked 89 permanent staff during a despute (many workers were female and had family in the local mining industry- not people to be taken lightly) and brought in cheap casual labour as required. Seemingly one of the first firms to make such a move towards undermining worker's rights as part of a cost cutting package.
anyway if i still have your attention heres some pretty pictures.....
First up : Night time
These tunnels/ shed (whatever) were full of loads of peoples junk, as usual this site has been a victim to people tipping their rubbish,
Collapsed tunnel made a great opportunity to try something different,
Now for the daytime....
Thanks for looking, Cloughandfowle will be adding more pics shortly also
