Contrary to popular belief, I'm not dead..
After an extended period of doing absolutely hee haw it was decided that enough was enough and that I had been deprived of the sweet smell of decay for far too long. With nothing new or decent in the surrounding area I hopped in the car and headed for Eastend Mansion, a place I've wanted to see for a long time but never made the effort to go..until today.
Usually I reserve little interest in residential sites but this place is rather special, with so many orginal features like the impressive staircase and banisters, chests of drawers and cast iron ranges left in place. Sadly it is deteriorating at an unprecdented rate, huge amounts of water ingress has accelerated decay with floors and walls on the brink of collapse..by the looks of things the inside of the building has another year or so left.
The house, built around 1500 has had many additions and extentions throughout the years, it has been owned by the Carmichael Clan since then and still is today. Been lying empty since 1989..I think.
Anyway..piccies No externals as it was chucking it down.
