Mayfield Station - Manchester - 03/2011

Mayfield station has been on my list of places to do for a while and a recent trip to Manchester gave me a perfect opportunity.

I was speaking to a worker who was doing some demo nearby and he said that the building is earmarked for demolition but has been put on hold due to Government cut backs. He said as soon as the money is in place, the station will go.

He also said he had just been clearing a load of old train works from under Piccadilly Station only a few days ago and was quite surprised that nothing was done to save any of it.

The Station appeared on the ITV drama series 'The Last Train' as a station in Sheffield, which is one of my all time favourites TV series and was probably the reason a lot of people from the UK got into UE!

That looks cool - but poor Ojay!

I've tried to get in here 3 times now! Last I heard, some guys had been caught and fined on entering so I gave up.
I may have to reopen this case!
