The lost windmills of Britain
Maybe not in the same league as ROC posts (no weapons or link with bombs), but these derelict towermills are a legacy to a simpler age. Many of them are converted to houses, but are still quite cool.

It is the most photographed building on the Norfolk Broads and after a week living there, I can confirm that LOL

Potternewton Windmill - Leeds The third and final surviving windmill in Leeds. Currently scaffolded up. Four storey mid 18th century tower mill called The Round House for reasons unknown.

A visit to my folks saw this one crossed off the list. Not a lot remains, but strangely cool.

Eagle eyed readers may spot one of a herd of well behaved guard cows looking at me. This one was certainly better mannered than the grumpy old cow from the nearby farm who shouted at me for being in the field.

No idea what this one is called but it was rather large ;) It was very close to Burton Pidsea ROC post so I have called it the Pidsea Windmill.......

Old school thread - back from the dead as I have some new pictures.
High on Windmill Hill, Much Wenlock, Shropshire, is this stone tower, the remains of Much Wenlock windmill. In 1859 battlements were added and a viewing platform put in so that viewers could watch the Olympian games in the adjoining field. Today it is shuttered, and awaiting restoration.

When it was listed in 1954, it states "C18. Four storey stone rubble tapering circular tower with damaged battlemented
parapet. Ruinous and with no interior features. A prominent landmark."
