Roecliffe Manor, Newtown Lindford, July 21st 2012
This Beautiful grade 2 listed Manor house was built in the1800. It was firsty owned by the Heygate family , the last member of the family, Captain Heygate died in the 1930s.
In the 1940’s it was purchased by the Leicestershire County council as a Convalescent home, and used for the treatment of sick children.
In 1972 it was sold to Leonard Cheshire Homes and more recently to a private developer.
Over the last few years this beautiful home has been left to the elements and thieves. Many fireplaces, tiles and flooring have been stolen. Inside is a empty shell with only a few original features to show off it's beauty.
It is now under redevelopment and builders have started work to restore this grande building.

I Can't believe this place was nearly on our door step and didn't even know it was there!
my partner was driving by and seen a security guard sat in his car blocking an entrance, so he drove back down the lane and found another gated entrance, parked up and took a walk in the grounds and this was stood there!
Re: Roecliffe Manor, Newtown Lindford, July 21st 2012
Useful security guard then!
Re: Roecliffe Manor, Newtown Lindford, July 21st 2012
Yeah we watched him drive up and down the driveway in his car from the front entrance to his cabin from the upstairs corridors. Looks like he doesn't get out his car unless he needs a pee!
