Long Compton ROC Post - (Warwickshire Group) - October 2010
Opened: 1961
Closed: September 1991
Visited with Tankman
This post has been demolished.
The post was situated next to the Rollright stones and in the same field as the Kings stone, although the post has been demolished the top part of the acsess shaft and the fence posts have been dumped in the hedgerow nearby. Long Compton was a master post and we beleive it to have been in Coventry Group.

Re: Long Compton ROC post Warwickshire October 2010
Its a weird location, where this post was sited around an ancient monument the Rollright Stones:thumb Although the views are unquestionable in regards to getting a perfect reading for an A-bomb attack!
After getting attacked by stinging nettles and brambles! "Tankman" flattened the undergrowth to get this stunning picture of the Entrance shaft/turret:lol:
The Kings Stone:thumb looking towards where the post originally was! The overgrown clump in the distance.
The view from where the GZI would have been! Un-interupted views for taking an A-bomb reading:smile
