Drift Mine. Yorkshire Nov 2013. Pit Heavy.
Permission visit. After much nagging to a friend of a friend, finally managed to blag a day down the pit. Can't name the place as they don't usually allow any photography down there, or in the unused buildings above, so most of it is pretty much unseen. So I converted my camera to steam power and once they were happy there was no danger with me blowing up the mine down I went. My first ever underground moochings and was a pretty decent day, until my camera had a massive tripod fall fail. Still have to go back as I didn't do the scrapyard they have with all the loco's n stuff. Pics-
First up the overground stuff -

some nice shots there Bob captured the place nicely been there me thinks as I recognise the machinery. I used to work in the industry and some machinery is unique to certain mines also the type of roof supports give it away. done well to get a camera down there they dont like gadgets and batterys are a no no so all the shots must have been lit with a caplamp and on film. Impressive effort thats paid dividends thanks for sharing.

The lamp rack reminds me of caphouse. I like it.
