Re: Abandoned Vehicles Thread - Join in :-)
I absolutely love the old p5 and p6 rover v8's. They're from when the British motor industry was at its absolute best.
http://www.channel4.com/4car/media/f...as-turbine.jpg
This is the 1961 rover T4 gas turbine car on which the rover p6 shell is based.
The T4 was derived from the forthcoming 2000 body style and heavily influenced the design of that model. It was actually shown two years before the debut of the 2000. At the time Rover claimed that if the market could accept the price of £3-4000 then it could have been in production within three years. However, at the time the most expensive Rover was £1948. With Kerosene consuption of the 140hp turbine engine being 16-20mpg, it was never going to compete with petrol engines on an economic basis.
This car along with other turbine vehicles can be seen in the Heritage Motor Museum, Gaydon, Warwickshire

It is a trophy and there where quite a few around. Aparently whoever lived there was very active at a local drag racing track. Another partially collapsed building nearby had dozens in it.

Re: Abandoned Vehicles Thread - Join in :-)
One of the many abandoned or as good as abandoned boats dotted around various parts of Hull and its neighbouring locales. There used to be two in this spot (the one in the picture and a smaller white one with a name (which I forget) but it as disappeared :-(. I doubt this one will be here that much longer if the redevelopment plans that surround it want it gone.
http://i125.photobucket.com/albums/p...dondedBoat.jpg
I'm going to go to the best one either early this morning or Friday morning (its only worth going in Dawn's low light when the tide is as high as it can be (or you wont see the other boats due to silt, sediments and a rickety old pier. Fortunately the "best" one is some distance away from any building work so until they become buried under several more tons of silt then they're safe.

Found this section of fenced off land basking in amber light, within an Industrial estate while doing some Recon. The cars are all very similar and stripped of various components. Across the road there is a auto garage that seems to specialise in this make of car I guess the few cars that are in that part are the ones that got the parts stripped from the others.
