View Full Version : Langdon Hole, Dover, Kent - 8/9/2010

At Langdon Hole is an underground system which has been sealed since 1979, called "Dumpy B" ("Dumpy A" being Long Hill underground radio station ).

These tunnels were either the generator tunnels for the telegraph signal station at swingate, or the alternative site for the Reserve Central Command Headquarters which was based at the castle.

I'll leave it as that for the history as the tunnels are quite popular in Dover so I'm not surprised if they have already been mentioned.

Corrugated Iron sheets typical of WW2 Tunnel systems - I sometimes tend to overuse my fisheye, on this outing I was rather well behaved, it is an acquired taste.

Nice one mate. I like pic.5. You've used the fisheye really well there. Nice to see you like digging in the rubble too.

nice, i think its amazing that you can still find the day to day stuff like tins of peaches or hot dog cans in a place like this
