Attached is a TomTom POI I made some time ago. It includes all the ROC posts (so I called it ROC ALL lol), including those tagged as demolished. They might not actually be demolished as we have found in comparrison to the subbrit database. The locations are the same coordinates as the google earth file so you might want to use the other POI in conjunction with this one because I don't know how accurate it is.

Usage is for members of this forum only

It might be of use to some of you ROC hunters ;)

I have just acquired an original UKWMO Sector ROC Map:smclap

I was thinking of having some copy's made to help fund Middleton Stoney's post resto:thumb

Don't know the price yet? But they will be done by a proper Reprographic studio.

Just want to find out who would be interested (if any) of a copy.

Here are some Pics of the map:

I have just uploaded to my photobucket, the last known list of ROC posts printed prior to stand down!
It was circulated in 1989 to UKWMO sites.
It covers all the posts of the UK, and shows the clusters along with the relevent post numbers etc.

It is 39 pages long:)
I am slowly re-writing the list with additional info like posts that have been demolished etc. for UE 'explorers' and hope to make it available in a smaller pocket book size in due course:coffee

I hope it is of some use to you all:thumb

The link is here:

Glad its of use:thumb

More ROC 'Geeky' Stuff:lol:

To finish the 'Set' I have also put up on my Photobucket the Listing for all of the UK ROC Posts prior to the 1968 closures - Dated January 1968.

So you now have the complete setup of the 1,550 posts that were originally built.:thumb

These 2 volumes are the only original sets that were compiled. And now reside in the ROC Archives in Winchester:thumb

I have a truck load more of ROC Reports, such as the Warmong Exercises etc.

A copy of original plans for a Post and a 1959 Report on a Bellows that was used in a Post to re-circulate the air!
Interesting reading as in parts its quite comical as the crew were in lock Down for 48 hours!

What this proves is that they were experimenting with the idea of keeping out contaminated air, but in the end due to expense etc, the idea was shelved until towards the end of Post closures, when they started again experimenting with proper filtration systems:confused:
Bunkerkid has been looking into this further:thumb

Perhaps this could be made a sticky in the roc section and people could add things to this list. Theres loads of things i stumbled accross which have been very useful but they are scattered all around the roc section and difficult to find. If they were all in one place however, it would be easier to find things :thumb

People feel free to add things!

Ive got loads of stuff i will slowly upload and put on here to be downloaded.

Firstly, these are from the 1989 Post List, giving Grid References, Post Numbers, Clusters, etc. Very useful to have a sheet with you then if you have one of them posh grid reference things you can find them:thumb

These DO NOT give the current condition, as i didnt want to change the original look. I wasted too much time copying into MS Word so enjoy!

Any useful links/recources etc you have for the ROC, please post them here. In time, any existing ones lurking in the ROC section will be merged into here, which is a sticky, so you can always find it at the top of the page!

Post post post!
