This place has always fascinated me from a very young age. It was probably the first building i ever really appreciated the architecture of.
Unfortunately it was pretty Bingo'd. All of the original chairs had been dumped in the boiler room.
A bit of info of how it would have been originally...

"There was also a small stage and several dressing rooms. Seating was divided between the stalls and single balcony. The auditorium was decorated in shades of rose-dubarry and silver with the Art Deco style plasterwork picked out in green.
Several different colors of seating was used to create diametrical patterns when viewed from the stage."

It opened as the Avion Super Cinema in 1938, with a personal appearance from George Formby.
The cinema closed in 1967, and it closed as a bingo hall in 2009.
