Euro Trip PART 3: St Mary's, Stannington (April 2010)

After Noisy, I headed to Rastatt in Germany. No urbex ones from there, but a few from the town are available on my facebook. I then returned to Luton, via Bolougne-Sur-Mer (a port which stinks to high-heaven of fish) because of busy ferries at all the other ports due to A rather annoying volcano spewing ash across Europe and therefore grounding all flights.

A night at home was quickly followed by another long drive up North to Edinburgh - stopping to take in my first (and sadly by the looks of the demolition, my last) visit to St Mary's.



I trudged through a boggy, wet wood and found my way to the back of the site. After great effort dragging myself and my bag through a ground floor window, I discovered that if I'd had a bit of a wander around I could have walked straight in a smashed-open section. Ah well, it's all good exercise.

After another trudge through the woods, I arrived back at the van. The old security guy can't be THAT on the ball - I no doubt looked like a right pikey with my white Transit! :D


My brief St Mary's stop was followed by a blat up to Edinburgh, an unloading of the van and the next day another drive back home to Luton.

All-in-all 2000 miles, but pretty enjoyable!
