St Edwards was built in 1904 by a priest named Father Hudson as a school/home for boys. The building shut in 1996. A scandalous history was unearthed in 1998 when a priest was convicted of abusing 18 children there between 1957 and 1965.

Inside some parts are a delight and many original features still survive, other parts are slight modernised and plain. There is the largest collection of garish wallpaper I have ever witnessed in one building. I will save your eyes from that horror although others may not – visited with Cuban, Dazza and Lost.
