The Noah's Ark Road tunnel was originally dug to carry a water main but at the outbreak of WW2 it was enlarged and lined with concrete to provide shelter for Dover's public from shelling and air-raids. It was capable of holding 850 people. It had many toilets and a central kitchen area. Ownership of the site is devided between two companies one of them, a local builder (who allowed access) used their part for storage, stripped the section out and added new lighting but the other end is almost original. It just over 1,000ft long and was used up to the 50s as a short cut to the local Hospital.

Just inside the entrance there's loads of WW2 graffiti.
