Fewster House was a Salvation Army "Dry" unit based in Greenock. The unit provided accommodation and support for those with alcohol problems. The unit was closed in the third quarter of 2008 with the reason given the building requires massive repairs and is unsustainable. Local councillors fought to retain the Salvation Army services in their constituency were fruitful in that new premises were found.

Natural decay or delightful architecture this place does not have, but for raw exhilaration the local chavs have gave it a “Clockwork Orange” feel, a violent almost aggressive feel to the place as you wander through what was once home to many an unfortunate soul dependent on alcohol here to be cured by the word of god.
