Visited Today with iSaw, hell of a climb up to the top!

1969 Closure

Stunning view, Nice aircraft post and plenty of vandalism.

Bit of water in the sump, post dry though, only beds, toilet and battery remain.
Hatch was on but not attached, counterweight was down below.

Walked past this today when i was helping lead some younger kids in my Boys Brigade on an expedition in preperation for their Duke of Edinburgh. One of them pointed and said "look its a pill box!". And lone behold it was Osmotherly ROC Post.

Not a lot appears to have changed apart from the the Aircraft Post has fell down on one wall :( It really needs repairing.

I had a look down, and then ended up taking all 10 of them down bit by bit explaining everything - we were there for about an hour haha.

It has the best exterior paint job for a 68 closure i have ever seen. It had better paint than many 91 closures. Strange as its very high up and so open!
