This battery was constructed to the East of Lossiemouth in June 1940 by the Polish Army Engineer Corps who then went on to another project in Tentsmuir,Fife. The 227th battery of the 501 Coastal Regiment manned the coastal station once it was completed on the 28th of May 1941.
It consisted of Two ex WW1 naval 6-inch MkXI/V guns. The battery was supported by two searchlight positions,Three generator houses,A command observation post,A main magazine,a support bunker and a domestic site. The domestic site was leveled and all that remains are the bases. The bunkers are in good condition for their age with lots of orginal paintwork remaining. There are machine gun nests all over the site and lots of original cammo nets and support poles remaining. The gun shelters are unusual in that they have two mounting rings in each bunker but in each one the second ring is covered by an original wall. The site was protected by a stop line of anti tank traps and pillboxes. The battery was reduced to care and maintenance by April 1945, the guns being removed in June 1946.

Good pics mate pity I wasn't able to make it this time. Here is a couple of pics of the roadblock anti tank blocks from the far off side by the canal that I took last year that I found after going the wrong way . Don't see these very often now .
