Mortal Decay, Ric and myself decided to head across Manchester and pay a visit to the overflow system known as "the works" and the culvert known as "Inhospitable" one evening.

You have two choices here - you can head in via Inhospitable - a culvert which lives up to its name in a mixture of rubble laden flooring and varying depths of sewage filled water or walk across a river. We went for the former option. The end result is worth it - its full of features from giant steps, a large chamber and penstock gate in a fine piece of brick built early 20th century engineering.

I decided to shoot with a £4 Yashica 35mm SLR I bought on ebay, the results were hit and miss... hence the limited shots.
