Done quite a bit of research into this site along with some other airfields I am working on. Airfield opened January 25th 1941 as a satellite to RAF Kinloss as a bomber training unit and operated aircraft such as the Armstrong Whitley, Avro Anson and the Vickers Wellington. It closed to aircraft on 22nd of October 1944 and was then used as a Prisoner of War camp till mid 1947. Not a lot remains now no trace of runways but from a old map I got I have shown where I believe they ran. Anyway enough of the history and on with the pictures.

Interesting ... good to see the perimeter track still survives. So were the runways grass, or have they been grubbed up?

Tis a 'Bervie Chipper' in name only these days sadly :(

Interesting to see this place, I thought it was all gone :)

Aye its not very good food at that chippy I thought and apparently the runways were grass and prone to getting flooded and closed in foul weather. I only know where they lay due to the help of a old hand drawn map I got.
