The Mid-Wales hospital, originally called 'Brecon and Radnor' joint asylum opened it's doors in 1903. In 1921 it became Talgarth asylum.

Originally intended to house 352 patients, at one point during the 50's the hospital housed around 455.

The hospital closed in 2000.

I visited here back in June, once on a really sunny day and a week later during one hell of a rain-storm.

Another nice quiet explore though - just a few locals hanging around and the occasional bit of activity around the admin buildings, which have been rented out to small companies.

I would have loved to have seen this place before they started knocking down corridors and stripping the tiles from the roofs.

Cheers :)
