Here we have the Mausoleum for the Scatcherd family located in St. Mary's graveyard. The family has been known for 250 years in Morley. The local park and streets make use of the family name. John Scatcherd was part owner of the "old Mill" in Batley and trustee in 1796 which was operated by Messrs John Scatcherd & Co. Some info here about Alice Scatcherd here: http://www.herstoryuntold.org.uk/index.php?nextcount=1&targetid=106&PHPSESSID=e88be9a4ab01452f3d64d03687ebe9b5 who was highly active in the womens rights bill. Oliver was mayor of Morley between 1988 and 1989 and the last of the family living in Morley.

I cannot find any more info on John Scatcherd & Co. but if you know anything then feel free to comment on it :)

Always like these places, are the inhabitants underground or have they been moved?

No idea mate but I assume they are located somewhere in the church graveyard because of them all living in Morley.

The church is empty too if anyone fancies a go at it...
