A bit of history 1st..

The sub-control was built in 1956 remaining operational until the disbanding of the Civil Defence Corps in 1968. After that date it remained in use, manned by Cardiff Corporation's voluntary Civil Defence Organisation until 1984. It was in theory operational as the Corporation's County Standby Control until 1991 but in practice it was never used apart from the storage of some radiac equipment. Since 1991 it has remained locked and unused. - (Source Subbrit)

Unfortunately this site is now welded shut.

This site was full of cold war goodies from gas masks to leaflets with information on what to do in a nuclear attack.. some serious duck and cover stuff

anyways on with the pics now... enjoy.

Honestly I cant say, but its in a very much live site so dont expect any pics to appear on the net.

But you could also count Llandaffs baby WWII brother.

wasnt this more than a sub-cxontrol? i may not be thinking of the same site tho..... but either way nice one. look at all that treasure!

its quite a small one fella so i think it was just a civil defense local hq, there must be a few more of these waiting to be found.
