The Stooges Road Trip
Words and Pictures by Moss Man and Captain Jack.

What you see here is based on a true story with some of the characters and events created totally from thin air.

After visiting the abandoned Roller Coaster we made a stop at Cranberry Specialty Hospital. What we found was a heavily vandalized remnant of a small hospital, right on a downtown corner. It was pretty well sealed at ground level so we climbed up on the roof to look for any holes. Besides not finding any easy way in we noticed the police drove past on a pretty regular basis. It looked like we would have to make some noise to get it open but It was so beat up and exposed we decided to pass. You should too.

Up the road a ways is the prison that was made famous in the TIticut Follies Movie. It’s an active DOC complex with a number of separate prisons with different degrees of security.. The oldest part is not really abandoned but mostly unused. That was our target.

Old administration is a house attached to that unused section. From what we can determine this was the access point and source of most of the photos shown some time ago by another exploring group.

Unused, decaying, but the security searchlights are still on.

Near the old main gate we spotted an IN….. but shortly after that things went sour.

Officer Rodriquez, the one on the right, detained us then they impounded our car and took our cameras and gear. We where then taken into the bowels of the building to meet the Commander for PROCESSING.

At this point between the stress and not having had anything to eat or drink for hours, I began to feel dizzy and light headed. The last thing I remember was being taken to the infirmary.

I’m not sure what happened next but I woke up to a cold dew chilling my skin as I lay in the prison graveyard. I saw my partner was nearby, slowly grunting and groaning his way to consciousness..

Disoriented and groggy we came away with one solid lesson learned from an ancient inmate trustee and decades old prison graffiti.
