Spotted this quite by chance whilst attending the Balado Steam Rally on Sunday.

My first inspection of an ROC Post, the padlocks have been smashed off & the locking mechanism has been cut off but couldn't open the hatch so couldn't get a look inside (Maybe next time)

A scottish t-bar key does the trick :D although thinking about it now I'm not sure I had one back then!

I think it was just brute force http://msnsmileys.net/g/smileys/Glassy/Muscle_Boy.gif

I might have a spare one available for a reasonable price. I'll have a look what I have left and PM you.

My apprentice-esque sales technique worked on you

And as for the dimensions, an extra 5mm makes all the difference.

Just found this: http://groups.google.com/group/uk.rec.subterranea/browse_thread/thread/6f31ee29dca434f5?hl=en-GB

It says that the post is to be demolished next year to extend the runway or something and if you want to visit it says contact the landowner.

So although this post is shit maybe think about saving some stuff for restos or just get some pics for history?

Went up this morning, the access shaft has a basket filled with concrete over the lid so access down is now impossible unless you have a forklift to lift the concrete off first!
